1. What is the goal of the experiment?
Galerie API 20 E présentant différents tests biochimiques colorés utilisés pour identifier une souche bactérienne en biotechnologie.
2. The description of the experiment.
First, we make a tube of suspension which includes a small amount of water and a piece of colony that we remove from a nutrient agar plate.
Then, we fill each small box of the Galerie API 20 E with small amounts of the suspension to know if the bacterium reacts to the substrates.
Finally, we incubate at 98, 6°F for 24 hours.
3. The result of the experiment.
To read the results, we observe which substrates the bacterium reacts to in the small boxes; we look at the different colours, which allow us to know what the bacterial gender and species are, as shown in the picture below.
